experts on the "L" word

yes, it’s almost that time of year. it may or may not be your favorite holiday, but nonetheless, valentine’s day is coming with heart-shaped chocolates, roses and all. at umano hq, we’re taking a break from the sappy grownup romance to interview the real experts on love. so we headed over to our Partner School and crashed ms. b’s art class. it was a blast.

happy vday

from kindergartners to third graders, we gathered our favorite vday feels from the kiddos.

when you’re wise beyond your years...
“I think love is good! I think having someone to care for you is good! and caring for them is good!”

#winning...
“I love my baby sister the most. we get to go to the pool and sometimes we play tag…I always win.”

crossing your fingers this will be your kid one day...
“I think valentine’s day is all about being with your family and giving stuff to each other and spreading love. I make my family dinner, and that’s love. I give my mom chocolate and pictures and roses to show her I love her. my mom is my valentine.”

someone tell hr to start a new team bonding exercise...
“we have a party and bring snacks and put treats in each other’s valentine’s day boxes. everyone gets ice cream in their own big tub…we even get toppings!”

rt the hr thing above...
“we get candy.”

when the struggle is too real...
“I wish we could have a valentine’s day dance. if we did have a v-day dance I already know who I would take. I know two boys who like me but I don’t know who to pick. one is in third grade, so he’s older than me, but I’m smarter than him.”

someone’s gotta c-r-u-s-h...
“boys are too gross. I don’t like boys because they scream and push me…”

whether you’re the classic v-day acts of affection type or would rather just eat the ice cream (and pizza), at least you know because of kids like these that the future is bright and full of pixie dust and rainbows.

happy (early) valentine’s day, #umanounion.
